  • Shield: Azure, two fleurs-de-lis in chief and a battle-axe in base embrued all Argent.
  • Motto: BLOODY BATTLE AXE.

Symbolism

  • Shield: Shield is in the colors of Infantry.  The two fleurs-de-lis symbolize the organization’s campaigns in Europe during World War II.  The bloody battle-axe device was used as the unit’s unofficial emblem in combat and the unit was known as the “Battle-Axe Regiment.

Background

The coat of arms was approved on 18 November 1954.
