Description

2nd attempt at covering the line from Hrubiesów to Zamość. In 2022 I reserved seats and more important a room in hotel about 10 minutes away from the station. With a 23:30 curfew for the hotel, I spotted the train originating at Kołobrzeg was running over 2 hours late earlier in the day with little time of making that up. Had I risked joining the train that train at Lublin, I would have arrived too late only to find the hotel locked up.

So fast forward to 2023, I planned with additional caution and not to rely upon either of the two trains to Hrubieszów that arrive there, both late in the evening. The same (recommended) hotel was booked and I spent the previous night in Lublin. I had a leisurely day with just a 2 hour bus ride from Lublin to Hrubieszów in temperatures all day of around 30C. As it happened both trains arrived in more or less on time. Next morning I took the first of the two back - seen here with SU160-006 on train IC20100 "Hetman", 05:41 Hrubieszów Miasto to Stalowa Wola Rozwadów which attaches to a another train from Lublin to Wrocław Główny.

Seen in the far distance is the 2nd train with SU42-1003 on IC28104 "Zamoyski", 06:45 Hrubieszów Miasto to Kołobrzeg.
