English: Looking at the Powerhouse apartments (2-17 51st Avenue), at the northeast corner of 2nd Street and 51st Avenue in Hunters Point, Long Island City, Queens. The building was converted from the former Long Island Rail Road power plant, which once powered the East River Tunnels underneath. Pictured is a contemporary column taking the place of one of the power plant's smokestacks.
