Description

Titan Sud is located in the suburbs of București and as far as passenger services are concerned, the 60km branch from here to Oltenița is isolated from the rest of the network. However there is a connection with the largely freight only circular line around București.

Formerly a CFR operated line operated by loco and coaches, open access operator Transferoviar Călători (TFC) now work the line with 3-coach class 76 DMUs which were formerly class 624s owned by DB in Germany.

On the left is 762414 (with 762413 on the opposite end, not in view) on train R15175, 08:57 Titan Sud to Oltenița. The set to the right is 762420.

Whilst international rail passes and rail staff FIP valid in Romania, won't cover this and all other open access lines, fares are extremely cheap. This 60 km, 90 minute journey cost RON7.50 = £1.40/€1.60 each way.
