Description 330-CFD-DN-SN-91-04377: A chief petty officer uses a sound-powered phone to communicate with crew members aboard the ocean minesweeper USS Exploit (MSO-440) as the vessel travels to Naval Amphibious Base, Norfolk, Va. While the Exploit remains at the base, its 82 crew members and officers will deploy to the Middle East to replace the crew of the ocean minesweeper USS Adroit (MSO-509). Adroit's current crew has been operating in support of Operation Desert Shield since September, 1/1/1991. Photographed by Ron Fontaine.
