| Description | 330-PS-2598 (111-SC-43976AC): At one of the Expeditions bases near Qaisumah, Saudi Arabia, camels and trucks were used by the Eclipse Expedition for transportation. They encountered sandstorms and dust which proved to be a constant threat to the operating efficiency of their delicate electronics instruments. Preventative measures, however, proved successful against the elements of this dry, hot desert area. Photograph released April 3, 1952. (5/19/2015). |
