Description3rd Herne Bay Pier 1910-28 018.jpg | Hand-coloured postcard photo taken 1910-1928 showing the third Herne Bay Pier which was built 1899. The card is postmarked 15 August 1928, and the wooden theatre entrance buildings, seen in this photo, burned down on 9 September 1928. However the photo was almost certainly taken before 1914, going by the style of costume and charabanc in the foreground. The Grand Pier Pavilion (big building on pier) was built 1910. |
Date | postmarked 1928; photo probably taken earlier |
