Description
English: Crop from a map of the Third Battle of Winchester in the American Civil War. The battle occurred on September 19, 1864, and was a Union victory. The battle started with Union cavalry attacks from the east and north. This map shows the two Union infantry corps positions before they attacked. Map is NOT oriented traditionally with north at the top. Infantry is facing mostly west toward Winchester.
