Description

4 (left) - 8 (right) West 28th Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City.

  • No. 4 - Built in 1885 as a store and dwelling of brick and brownstone, designed by Henry E. Kilburn in the Queen Anne style, converted from 1861-62 brownstone row house, upper floors converted to apartments in 1922, now lofts
  • No. 6 - Built in 1855 as a brownstone row house in the Italianate style, architect unknown, converted in 1904 for commercial use, storefront replaced in 1913, upper floors mostly unchanged
  • No. 8 - Built in 1888 as a store and bachelor apartments of brick and brownstone, designed by Charles Romeyne & Co. in the Romanesque Revival style, converted from 1855 brownstone row house, at one time housed the Fencer's Club, facade largely true to 1888 alteration
