English: To the left is the "S&E Garage and Ford Dealership" building at 580 Main Street, Ferndale, California. It was an early automobile showroom and has formerly housed the Kinetic Sculpture Museum which closed in 2013 and the continuing tenant, the Ferndale Art and Cultural Center. In the 21st century the building formerly housed a music store and is presently a consignment antique store. The building has been covered in Tyvek brand wrap since the 1950s era stucco was removed in 2012. It is a contributing building in the Ferndale Main Street Historic District, NRHP Reference # 93001461. To the right is 554 Main Street, Ferndale, California - a commercial False-front called the Doe Building when it was finished in 1895. It currently houses the U.S. Post Office. 554 Main is located within the Historic District but is not a contributing building. |
