English: 1st Lt. Ross Lunsford, chief of operations and engineering, Space Launch Delta 30, dons MOPP 4 gear during a joint Civil Engineer exercise at March Air Reserve Base, July 26, 2023. Lunsford oversees an elaborate Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit, which creates potable water for the base. The two most important components when establishing a bare base is to ensure they have potable water and an airfield. Together members from the 61st CELS and 30th CES team from Vandenberg Space Force Base spent the week honing their CE skills in a simulated deployment environment led by the 163rd Training Regional Squadron.
