English: The tartan of the 64th Regiment of Foot, Loudoun's Highlanders, raised in 1745. It is basically Black Watch with the black "tram lines" removed, and an over-check of yellow (on green) and red (on blue, and bordered by black "guard" lines). This image is exactly full-sett, and can tile horizontally and vertically. Scottish Register of Tartans notes on this pattern: "This is the correct version as detailed in 'Tartan: the Highland Textile' by Jamie Scarlett MBE page 109. The count was taken from a sample in the Huntington Library California. Was previously assumed to be Loudon's but was in fact an error" This is a usual, mirroring tartan. SRT-provided thread count (in "/" notation, and with SRT's overly nuanced, non-standard colour codes normalised to standard tartan colours): /R8 K4 B48 K40 G40 Y6/ (or in boldfacing notation: R8 K4 B48 K40 G40 Y6). |
