76-мм ПУШКА обр. 1942 г. № 15588 В январе 1944 г. в районе д. Илькино расчет орудие старшего сержанта Манина вступил в бой с группой противника, пытавшейся при поддержке двух „тигров" вырваться из окружения. Подпустив танки на 300—400 м, Манин тремя выстрелами поджег головной. Но и его орудие было повреждено. Дважды раненный, собрав все свои силы, коммунист Манин исправил повреждения. Но вражеская пуля в этот момент оборвала жизнь отважного воина. Его товарищи—наводчик Игнатьев, заряжающий Волков—отомстили гитлеровцам за смерть командира. Они подожгли второй танк и уничтожили пехоту врага. За доблесть и мужество старшему сержанту А. А. Манину посмертно присвоено звание Героя Советского Союза.
