Description 80-G-706980: Harold Weisbrod, Navy diver, sets world record for “Wet Tank” dive at the U.S. Naval Gun Factory, Washington, D.C. Newspaper reporters and photographers gather around as Weisbrod emerges from the recompression chambers. He is getting a hearty handshake from Lieutenant Junior Grade J.F. MacDonald, USN, a former record-holder himself and now Assistant to Officer in Charge, Deep Sea Diving School, released 18 March 1949. U.S. Navy Photograph, now in the collections of the National Archives. (2016/06/14).
