Towboat "Glenn R" (doc. # 528756) upbound. In distance, recently-arrived floating restaurant Towboat Annie's can be seen at Indiana bank. Clark Bridge at left. Ohio River mile 603. Louisville, Kentucky. January 1988. File # 88a027. . Originally named "Wasp" (80x26, twin Cat D379 diesels, 1130 hp), the boat was built in 1970 by Ryan Contracting Co., Owensboro, Kentucky [or Evansville, Indiana], and owned by River Sand and Stone Co., Evansville, Indiana. In 1972, it was sold to Ohio Valley Marine Co., Evansville. In 1973, it was sold to McQuiston Marine Lines, Pittsburgh, and renamed "Glenn R". In 1978, it was sold to Mon River Towing, Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania. Later in 1978, it was sold to McBride Towing Co., Harrods Creek, Kentucky.
