  • Italiano: La Pusterla di Sant'Ambrogio a Milano è una bizzarra "ricostruzione" di porta medievale ("pusterle" erano dette le porte urbiche minori), risalente al 1939 (come rivelano anche i tre fasci littori - scalpellati - sulla torre di sinistra). È stata costruita riutilizzando materiale di spoglio (incluse tre statue di santi del XIV secolo di anonimo Maestro campionese) ricavato dalle porte medievali autentiche, demolite senza riguardi. La ricostruzione è stata troppo estesa e radicale e soprattutto arbitraria per poter oggi parlare di un semplice "restauro", piuttosto che di un "pastiche" neogotico.   • English: The Pusterla di Sant'Ambrogio in Milano is a weird Disney-like "reconstruction" of a medieval gate ("pusterla" was the name for a minor city gate), built in 1939 (as the rests of three fasces on the left tower reveal) re-using parts and bits (including three 14th century statues by a Campionese master) from genuine medieval gates, that were lightheartedly demolished. The "reconstruction" was too wide and radical and arbitrary to allow us today to speak about a true "restoration" rather than about a Gothic revival pastiche.
