Description/Blazon

  • Shield: Per chevron Argent and Gules, in chief two gunstones.
  • Crest: That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  From a wreath Argent and Gules, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statute of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the common in Lexington, Massachusetts.
  • Motto: ENGINEERS PAR EXCELLENCE.

Symbolism

  • Shield: Scarlet and white are the colors of the Engineers.  The two gunstones refer to the unit’s two battle honors, World War II.  The chevron simulates a roof and alludes to construction, the organization’s present duty.
  • Crest: The crest is that of the United States Army Reserve.

Background

The coat of arms was approved on 6 February 1958.
