Description A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4C Skyhawk aircraft (BuNo 149529) from Attack Squadron VA-15 Valions landing on the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11). VA-15 was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 10 (CVW-10) aboard the Intrepid for a deployment to Vietnam from 11 May to 30 December 1967.
The A-4C 149529 was later shot down over Laos on 14 February 1969 while assigned to VA-216, CVW-15, aboard USS Coral Sea (CVA-43). The pilot, Lt.JG L.J. Stevens, was declared "missing in action".
