Description A U.S. Navy Douglas A-4C Skyhawk (BuNo 148603) from attack squadron Va-216 Black Diamonds is waiting to be launched from the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43) off Vietnam while an McDonnell F-4B Phantom II (BuNo 150447) from fighter squadron VF-151 Vigilantes was just launched from the waist catapult. Both aircraft were assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 15 (CVW-15) for a deployment to Vietnam from 7 September 1968 to 18 April 1969. The A-4C 148603 was retired by the U.S. Navy in 1976 and sold to Singapore. It was converted to an A-4SU (s/n 994).
