DescriptionA10 chaff and flares.jpg |
English: NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. -- An A-10 Thunderbolt II assigned to the Nellis' 66th Weapons Squadron releases chaff and flare during a close air support mission over the Nevada Test and Training Range May 5, 2005. The A-10 is specially designed for close air support of ground forces. They are simple, effective and survivable twin-engine jet aircraft that can be used against all ground targets, including tanks and other armored vehicles. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Tech. Sgt.
