| Description |
English: A361 north of Devizes. There is a convenient layby next to a water treatment plant at the viewpoint. The eastern gridline is about 170 metres along the road. In the distance is the curiously named Shepherd's Shore situated alongside the ancient earthwork called the Wansdyke which runs from Bath to Savernake. The Wansdyke can be seen in these images 337386 and 409328 The stretch of the A361 between Devizes and Beckhampton to the north-east is mostly straight with some shallow bends and it is very tempting to put one's toe down if there's not much traffic about. |
