HAT YAO, Thailand (Feb. 14, 2013) Amphibious assault vehicles assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (31st MEU) line up on the beach as part of the simulated beach assault portion of exercise Cobra Gold 2013. The 31st MEU is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, currently on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. Cobra Gold is a Thai-U.S. co-sponsored multinational joint exercise designed to advance regional security by exercising a robust multinational force from nations sharing common goals and security commitments in the Asia-Pacific region.
