Description
English: Three U.S. Navy Douglas AD-4 Skyraiders of Attack Aquadron 115 (VA-115) "Arabs" get ready to launch from the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea (CV-47) for a mission over Korea, in September 1950. Behind the AD-4s are Vought F4U-4Bs of Fighter Squadron 114 (VF-114) "Executioners", two F4U-5Ns (with the white radar housing on the right wing) of Composite Squadron 3 (VC-3) Det.3 "Blue Nemesis", and Grumman F9F-2 Panther of VF-111 "Sundowners and VF-112 "Fighting One Twelve". All squadrons were assigned to Carrier Air Group 11 (CVG-11) aboard the Philippine Sea for a deployment to the Western Pacific and Korea from 5 July 1950 to 26 March 1951.
