Description Always a bit of an event - all those little glasine envelopes turning up. Some things are completely new to me (a selection of Japanese Viola species that are hardly ever available in the UK but which I hope to do on the nursery), some other things that I've tried over and over and never got anything from but which I hope, one day, will do me the honours (in particular some big alpines - Gentiana punctata, purpurea, Aconitum anthora and Anemone narcissiflora - all common European natives but without success hitherto, possibly because the seed is not fresh enough), and some things I know I can grow but which will take a while to mature (various Lilium, Iris and Paeonia. I'm having a go at the Lilium monadelphum types this year - gorgeous things). I've almost completely given up on species Penstemon from this source as they're usually wrongly identified (usually turning out to be the rather boring but easy P.serrulatus or similar) I did order some wild collected P.wilcoxii this time though, so fingers crossed.
