| Description | These shack-like structures outside of Cape Town, South Africa, can be found outside of Johannesburg, also. Workers come from rural areas and live in these 8 x 8 (roughly) shacks until they can obtain better governmental-sponsored housing, which takes many years. Often the workers return to their native home one month per year. Sanitary conditions are poor, with communal water and toilets. |
