Description
English: The Firefinder (AN/TPQ-47) Radar (the Q-47) is a replacement for the AN/TPQ-37 long range counter-fire radar, which came around from an upgrade program of the Q-37 — AN/TPQ-37 P3I (Block II). The AN/TPQ-47 provides rapid and increased target location, improved accuracy, and target classification at greater ranges. It can locate light and heavy mortars at ranges out to 18 km and heavy mortars out to 30 km. It locates artillery and light rockets out to 60 km and heavy rockets out to 100 km. General aiming ranges are 18 km for mortars, 60 km for artillery and light rockets and 100 km for heavy rockets.
