Description

British United Air Ferries became British Air Ferries on 1 Oct 1967 and was sold to the T D Keegan empire two years later. In 1972 G-AOFW was named 'Big John' and is shown here on short finals to Southend on 14 Aug 1976, wearing the Keegan-era livery of pale blue fuselage/fin band and dark blue undersurfaces. It was scrapped at Southend in Dec 1983. Just below the nose is the steeple of St Lawrence, Eastwood, which at that time was right next to the end of the main runway (runway since extended back about 300m).
