This excellent bust of George Mackay Brown can be found in the Stromness Public Library, just round the corner from his nearby home in Mayburn Court in Stromness. The sculpture lives on a shelf normally and I'm grateful to the lovely librarian who allowed me to place it on the table to photograph it. I wanted to include her in the picture, but she was too shy for that! The notice reads: George Mackay Brown By Tuck Langland Tuck Langland was inspired to commemorate the life of GMB on his most recent visit to the Islands. He is an American artist and former Vice President of the National Sculptures Society and his works appear in many museums across the United States. Art in Public Places Scheme Orkney Museum Cat.
