Français : Radiomètre de Crookes (Crookes radiometer). Une ampoule sous vide partiel contient un système rotatif comprenant quatre ailettes (de mica en général) dont chacune a une des faces noircie au noir de fumée et l’autre argentée. Exposées à un rayonnement visible ou non, ces ailettes se mettent à tourner. Ce radiomètre a été amélioré pour y associer un dispositif électrique de mesure.
English: Crookes radiometer (or light mill), consists of an airtight glass bulb, containing a partial vacuum. Inside are a set of vanes which are mounted on a spindle. The vanes rotate when exposed to light, with faster rotation for more intense light, providing a quantitative measurement of electromagnetic radiation intensity.This radiometer has been enhanced to associate an electrical measuring device
Nederlands: De radiometer van Crookes of het lichtmolentje is een experimentele opstelling die bestaat uit een glazen bol met daarin (vier) metalen wieken die op een verticale draaias gemonteerd zijn. De wieken zijn aan de ene zijde zwart en aan de andere zijde spiegelend. De luchtdruk in de bol is laag, ongeveer een duizendste van een atmosfeer. Als het molentje belicht wordt, gaan de wieken draaien. Deze radiometer is verbeterd om een elektrische meet- toestel te koppelen
Deutsch: Eine Lichtmühle (auch als Lichtrad oder Radiometer, selten als Sonnenmühle, bezeichnet) ist eine Glaskugel, in deren Innerem sich ein bewegliches Flügelrad befindet, das mit mehreren einseitig geschwärzten Plättchen versehen ist. Bei Lichteinfall beginnt sich das Rad zu drehen. Die meist dekorativen Zwecken dienende Apparatur wurde 1873 von William Crookes erfunden. Diese Radiometers wurde erweitert, um eine elektrische Messvorrichtung zu verbinden. |
