A Pali Manuscript in Nepal (Plate VIII Folio 124b)

Summary

edit
Description
English: The oldest surviving Pali manuscript in Nepal dating to the 9th Century, in the form of four palm-leaf folios. The scribe used a transitional script (somewhat like Siddhāṃ) deriving from the Gupta script to transcribe a fragment of the Cullavagga. The manuscript was found using Pali by Cecil Bendall in 1899, and now is preserved in the National Archives of Nepal. The image here is the Plate VIII Folio of the manuscript (No.124b). The upper part is the copy image of the original, while the lower part is the high resolution version of the upper part.
