A PRETTY DRIVE NEAR FOGLI'S KANKAKEE RIVER

Date: 1913 Source Type: Postcard Publisher, Printer, Photographer: Unknown Postmark: August 21, 1912, Shelby, Indiana Collection: Steven R. Shook Remark: Constructed in 1898, the Fogli Summer Resort lodge was located on the Kankakee River in Lake County, Indiana, near Shelby, and was operated by Benjamin Fogli and his wife, Mary.

It is believed this photograph was taken on the north shore of the Kankakee looking east. The Hebron Bridge is visible in the distance. Thus the photograph was taken very close to the Lake-Porter county line in Porter County.
