Description

A variant of the common Eurasian Collared dove, this is an uncommon bird in the city limits or suburbs. It is mostly sighted in the countryside in open fields often picking up grains in groups.

On this day though, the weather was cloudy but beautiful, and we saw half a dozen of these birds in various places. Unlike their cousins, they seem to be alone and not in flocks - I am not sure if this is only on this place or a general behaviour. Whatever, it was, they were quite shy and didn't allow us to come close at all unlike the other doves that allow us around 15-20 feet distance.
