NORFOLK (Dec. 20, 2012) Culinary Specialist 1st Class Mike Handy, assigned to USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), greets his family during a homecoming celebration. Iwo Jima returned to Naval Station Norfolk after a scheduled deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, Exercises African Lion, Eager Lion, International Mine Countermeasure Exercise 2012, and maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the Mediterranean and Arabian Seas.
