Summary edit

Description A Sake (Japanese rice wine- pron Saak-ey) bar on Miyajima island near Hiroshima, Japan. I'd have loved to go in for a couple of shots but sadly, time was my worst enemy at the time- I had to undertake an over an hour journey by ferry and train to Hiroshima station to catch my Shinkansen back to Osaka later that night. I did have plenty of fresh Sake, straight from the brewery in Nara the following day. (though I did not know it at that time). Now don't you simply love the classic period 'wild west' look of this bar! Sake is a Japanese alcoholic drink made of fermented rice, koji (often translated as rice malt or yeast made from rice) and water. In Japanese, the word 'sake' also means alcoholic beverages in general. (Hiroshima,Japan, Apr/ May 2019)
