A delightful bird to watch in action - always moving, usually makes sudden swift movements - like when turning. The movements are not slow like what we see in raptors, but fast, like a sudden jerk. I find such movements fascinating and wonder about the fast responses of the birds. The area we visit has plenty of these birds usually near the dirty pond or in the deep bush. I wonder about the natural predators of these birds, but never seen anything ever try to catch or eat these fantails.

The bird hunts for small flying insects around moist areas or near small water bodies and ponds. I think I will always shoot these birds whenever I see them.
