Description

This observation is a good example of dry avalanching of bedrock. Phoenicis Lacus is one of the 30 quadrangle areas of Mars used by the USGS Astrogeology Research Program. This quadrangle includes parts of Daedalia Planum, Sinai Planum, Solis Planum, and a part of the Tharsis rise.
