| Description | A portion of the old city walls are seen as you climb down, back to ground level as you exit the Sirvansahlar Palace. Up ahead is a small city park with a cannon on display. (I always spell that as Canon!). A bit to the left was this catapult, an essential bit of equipment in the defences of yesteryears! I was completely fascinated by it, I'd seen scores of such catapults in cartoons and movies and stuff, I hadn't imagined they actually exist in real life! It was unfortunately not possible to get any closer, so I zoomed in the best I could. (Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017) |
