| Description | A cave temple deep in the bush above Saiyok Noi waterfall near Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Parts of the cave open up to the sky above- this could probably imply a collapse and a destroyed slightly larger temple at the site, judging from some stones and debris lying near the entrance and one more standing Buddha statue amidst the debris. (see previous pictures earlier in this album), I am in Kanchanaburi on a day trip to check out the bridge on the river Kwai and learn about the horrors related to the Death Railway, which I had spent the entire morning exploring. The after noon halt was at the Saiyok Noi waterfalls and while the rest of y group is splashing about in the waters of the pool, I opted for the long walk down a desolate rural Thai country road to check out the source of the Saiyok Noi falls. (detailed notes about all this appeared earlier in this album- see previous pictures). On my way back to join the rest of my group at the Saiyok Noi falls, I took a slight detour to explore this tiny cave temple set deep in the bush. (Kanchanaburi, Thailand, Oct. 2008) |
