Ellora Caves, along with its twin Ajanta, are not only the finest caves of India but are one of the best cave Architecture of the world and hence rightly declared as UNESCO world Heritage site.

Among the Ellora caves, Kailasa Temple, cave#16, is mesmerizing. Even with the current engineering technology, one cannot imagine and build a flawless masterpiece by just carving one single rock. Forget about building it in just 18 years, that too by hand held tools, it is next to impossible with current tools and technologies. One single mistake and the entire work is gone.

It combines three important aspects of architecture, Imagination, Engineering and implementation flawlessly.

It was just mesmerizing to see this masterpiece. I am still awestruck... Hats off to the Engineers, Artists of Rashtrakut Era..
