Description
English: A hexadecimal roundhouse Strictly speaking, the old North Midland Railway's roundhouse locomotive shed of 1839-40 at Derby is not circular but is a polygon with sixteen sides. Here it is seen externally, with a large centrally placed smoke vent in the centre of its 16-faced pyramidal roof. The back of the 1839 office building (though possibly a later extension) is on the extreme left.
