| Description |
English: A sideways look at a one-man car There were 12 of these cars, numbered 1-12, which in fact were heavy rebuilds of pre-war single-deck cars, mostly English Electric railcoaches. This is car No 8, which had been railcoach No 265. The one-man cars were successful in reducing crew costs, but the cars were essentially worn out, and all had been withdrawn by the end of the 1980s. As far as I am aware, no example survived into preservation. |
