Description
English: A weir located on the Ribeira da Benémola (Benémola River). The Mercês and Benémola rivers are dotted with mills, sluices and dams that date back to the period of Arab occupation, during which the whole area was irrigated and agriculture was the predominating activity in these fertile lands. This area is near Querenca, Loulé, Algarve, Portugal.
