Summary

edit
Description
English: Ghanaian food is diverse but all rather heavy to give energy to people who work hard every day. Foofoo is one of their favourite local dishes. Cassava or yam is cooked slightly and then smashed together with plantains till homogeneous consistency is reached. This mass is usually served with hot peanut soup. A person tears a piece of foofoo by 2 fingers then, still holding it on 2 fingers, puts it down into the soup and swallows the full foofoo ball without chewing! This young woman is in the process of smashing of the ingredients on the backyard of her house.
