Summary
editDescriptionAbbey Mausoleum - Arlington County VA - 1996.jpg |
English: Looking north at the front of Abbey Mausoleum, a private mausoleum at the corner of Hobson Drive and Military Road in Arlington County, Virginia, in the United States. Built from 1924 to 1927, it was once the most luxurious mausoleum in the District of Columbia metropolitan area. But the U.S. Marine Corps' Henderson Hall slowly purchased all the land around the crypt, isolating it. With a ban on interments during World War II, the mausoleum fell into disuse and disrepair. All the bodies were removed in December 2000 and January 2001, and it was demolished on February 5, 2001. |
