Dir meine geliebt Hedwig,
möchte ich hiermit Dank sagen
für alles, was Du für mich getan
hast. Du hast nicht nur mich mit
Deiner nimmermüden Liebe
umsorgt, sondern mir auch unsere
Kinder geschenkt und diese
gehegt und gepflegt. Schließlich
hast Du durch die Krankheit
Deiner und meiner Mutter oft
eine große Last tragen und dieses
auf Dich nehmen müssen. Deine
aufopfernde Mühe und Arbeit
wird Dir unvergessen bleiben!
Ich habe Dich, wie Du weißt,
immer aufrichtig geliebt und bin
Dir, das möchte ich Dir nochmals
sagen, nie untreu gewesen.
Wie gern wäre ich bis ins hohe
Alter hinein mit Dir gemeinsam
