Description

By Hannah Groff (2010)

The abstracted and stylised representation of Brisbane’s cityscape presented in this piece highlighted other significant local monuments that bridge the gap between Brisbane’s youth, culture, history and government. Simple line work stripped away the details leaving distinct architectural forms that make the buildings recognisable. Inclusion of colour synonymous with Brisbane added depth and includes the blue sky and the sandstone buildings. A commuter would feel like they are walking across the whole city in the time it takes to span the bridge.
