Summary
editDescriptionAcheson House, Bakehouse Close - geograph.org.uk - 1336797.jpg |
English: Acheson House, Bakehouse Close Built in 1633 by Sir Archibald Acheson, Secretary of State to Charles I, though parts of the house may be older. In the mid-19thC it was a notorious house of ill repute, rejoicing in the name of "The Cock And Trumpet". It was in a dilapidated condition before being skilfully restored in the 1930s and is now part of the Scottish Craft Centre. |
