Español: El delfín del Amazonas o del Orinoco, Inia geoffrensis (también llamado delfín rosado, tonina, boto o bufeo) es el delfín de agua dulce más grande que existe y vive en las aguas pantanosas y rápidas del Orinoco, en sus ambarinos afluentes y en las aguas claras de los ríos Negro y Ventuari.
Se las puede encontrar en toda la cuenca del Orinoco y Amazonas, llegando a Colombia, Brasil, Guyana, Bolivia y Perú. La variedad que se encuentra en nuestro Orinoco se denomina Inia geofrensis humboldtianay se considera una especie en estado vulnerable de conservación. El Acuario de Valencia es el unico en el mundo que entrena Toninas actualmente cuenta con dos toninas Zeus y Dalila. |
