Summary
editDescriptionAdam's Rib (1949 alternate poster).jpg |
English: Alternate theatrical poster for the American release of the 1949 film Adam's Rib. |
||
Date | |||
Source |
English: Scan via Heritage Auctions. Cropped from the original image. |
||
Author |
English: Presumably the film's distributor, Loew's Incorporated. The credit "Processed in U.S.A. by Theatre Posters, Inc." also appears at bottom left. |
||
Permission (Reusing this file) |
English: The scanned poster did not include a copyright notice; as such, it most likely passed into the public domain upon publication/distribution. Even if the scanned poster is an exception or a modification and other printings of posters had included a copyright notice, the copyright for the artwork was not renewed as required by American copyright law to extend/maintain protection for works published 1963 or earlier. See the Copyright Catalog (1978 to present). In order to maintain copyright protection, the poster would have had to be renewed 28 years after publication. Because it was not renewed, copyright definitively lapsed at that time. Note that the poster art is a distinct work from the film it represents and had to be renewed separately. |
