Verso Klebeetikett aus einem Auktionskatalog mit unzutreffender Bezeichnung: "Deutscher Meister 1780, Lot 77, Großherzog Karl von Dahlberg, letzter Kurfürst von Mainz".

Adam Friedrich von Seinsheim (1708-1779) entstammte mütterlicherseits der Schönborn-Familie, die insbesondere in Franken über zwei Jahrhunderte hinweg zahlreiche bedeutende Bischöfe stellte. Adam Friedrich wurde 1747 zunächst Propst des Kollegiatstifts St. Gangolf zu Bamberg, 1755 Bischof von Würzburg und schließlich 1757 Bischof von Bamberg. Seine Bewerbung um den Kölner Erzstuhl nach dem Tod Clemens Augusts 1761 scheiterte hingegen. Die beiden Mitren auf dem Tisch neben dem Dargestellten repräsentieren seine beiden Bistümer, davor liegt die fränkische Herzogskrone.
